SUMMARY:Association of State Floodplain Managers: 44th Annual National Conference
DESCRIPTION:ASFPM’s 44th annual national conference:\n“Resiliency Where The West Begins” \nWith our responsibility to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and with the health and safety of our members and attendees in mind\, we have made the decision to cancel our in-person conference and make the shift to a virtual conference. Read more here \n  \nThe ASFPM annual conference is recognized as the most important floodplain conference in the United States year after year. With more than 120 speakers and 1\,200 participants\, they are the national conferences all community\, state and federal floodplain managers plan to attend. And because of that\, many of the most important consulting firms and product vendors associated with floodplain management attend. \n  \nIn recent years\, the attendance has had about an equal number of private\, local\, state and federal participants from all over the U.S. and several foreign countries. \n  \nASFPM also sponsors and co-sponsors major regional and topical conferences. Every year\, there are numerous conferences and workshops of vital interest to all segments of our membership. Please also see our Floodplain Manager’s Calendar.

The 27-acre mixed-use residential project is located along the Northern Waterfront of the City of Vallejo and includes two parks. The site is bound by River Park and open space to the north\, residential neighborhoods to the south an east\, and Mare Island Straight to the west. The Design Review Board serves as an advisory board to the Commission and its staff. The Board was formed to advise the Commission on the adequacy of public access proposed as a part of projects in the Commission’s Bay and 100-foot Shoreline Band jurisdictions. Public access may include both physical improvements as well as visual access. The Board advises the Commission on a project’s effects on appearance\, design and scenic views in accordance with the Commission’s San Francisco Bay Plan policies and the Public Access Design Guidelines. The Board’s recommendations are advisory only. \nQuestions and Copies of Staff Reports. The meeting video with audio recording and summary meeting minutes are posted to our website. Due to the discursive and open dialogue of the Board\, verbatim transcription is not practicable. The summary meeting minutes provide an equivalent alternative to the meeting audio. \nBagley-Keene Open Meeting Act. As a state agency\, the Commission is governed by the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act which requires the Commission to (1) publish an agenda at least ten days in advance of any meeting; (2) describe specifically in that agenda the items to be trans­acted or discussed; and (3) refuse to add an item subsequent to the published agenda. In addition to these gen­eral requirements\, the Bagley-Keene Act includes other specific provisions about how meetings are to be announced and conducted.
