Project Manager or Senior Project Manager

Consider If: You are excited by OneShoreline’s cross-jurisdictional, cross-sector, and cross-disciplinary approach to climate resilience and want to shape the direction of our projects from inception through construction.

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Status: Applications will be accepted through December 5, 2025

Summary of Position: The Project Manager will focus on planning resilience for the developed, natural, and recreational areas of the county. This full-time position is classified as Project Manager, though depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate, it could be classified as Senior Project Manager. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the agency’s Director of Project Management and collaborate closely with existing finance and project management staff. Flood Infrastructure Project Manager

Consider If: You have hands-on experience with building, operating, or maintaining flood protection infrastructure, enjoy working directly with contractors in the field and seeing the results of your work, and wish to translate your experience towards climate resilience.

Position Status: Applications will be accepted through December 5, 2025

Summary of Position: The Flood Infrastructure Project Manager will oversee the operations and maintenance of flood management infrastructure across San Mateo County, and, where possible, the transformation of that infrastructure into facilities that work with nature and incorporate climate-driven conditions. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the agency’s Director of Project Management, and collaborate closely with OneShoreline finance and project staff, to facilitate projects that repair or replace the following:

  • Flood Early Warning System, an integrated, expanding, system of stream, precipitation, and tide gauges.
  • Flood Zone Assets along Colma Creek, including a creek channel bottom that is concrete-lined or natural in various locations and multiple culverts, San Bruno Creek, including two pump stations, a tide gate, and natural creek channel, and San Francisquito Creek, including natural creek channel and instream infrastructure.
  • Bayfront Canal & Atherton Channel Flood Protection and Ecosystem Restoration Project of two culverts, associated in-take and outfall structures, a trash capture device, and environmental mitigation site.
  • Routine Maintenance Program for Bayside Creeks and Municipal Regional Stormwater Permit compliance.
