OneShoreline & Leadership Council SMC – Resilient Communities Workshop
The San Mateo County Flood and Sea Level Rise Resiliency District (also known as OneShoreline), in partnership with the Leadership Council of San Mateo County, invites you to attend the first Resilient Communities Workshop for community-based organizations.
OneShoreline is an independent regional government agency established by State legislation in 2020 to plan and build solutions to the water-related impacts of climate change. Flooding, sea level rise, coastal erosion, and drought, and other local climate impacts such as heat, wildfires, and smoke, do not respect our jurisdictional boundaries and threaten all sectors of society, such as public health, housing, transportation, infrastructure, the economy and environment.
OneShoreline and the Leadership Council SMC recognize the key role that community-based organizations play in building resilience to these threats. We seek to build a broad coalition of organizations, starting with community-based organizations like yours. To begin this process, we invite you to discuss the important work ahead on:
Thursday, April 13, 2023
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
San Mateo Main Library (Oak Room)
55 West 3rd Avenue, San Mateo, CA 94402
The agenda will include:
- A brief introduction to the inter-related climate vulnerabilities in San Mateo County and to OneShoreline
- An opportunity to share your organization’s activities and interests as they intersect with climate impacts
- A discussion of building cross-sector strategic partnerships around action-based climate resiliency and funding
- Lunch – Provided by OneShoreline!
We are eager to meet you and explore together the ways we can partner on climate resilience solutions.
Thank you for your consideration and partnership,
OneShoreline and the Leadership Council of San Mateo County
